Today is a big day. It marks 10 years since I started this little photography business of mine. TEN. YEARS. That’s a whole decade. A decade of capturing memories, creating art, and getting to be the boss lady. A decade of crying behind my camera at weddings and laughing families and sometimes not-laughing families and pup chasing and toddler wrangling and dog treat distributing and newborn swaddling and child bribing and forcing couples to kiss on command and puppy loving and baby snuggling. It’s been good. And it’s been hard work. But more than the work, I’m thankful for the people that this business has brought into my life. The fellow photographers who have been a community rather than competition. The clients who have been more like friends. I’m thankful for you.
