Yesterday we went out to Peace Valley Winery for their Open House and the release of their spring wines. Though their grapes are grown on over twenty acres of land, the winery itself is quaint, homey, and welcoming. They produce over 15 different wines, enough variety that anyone can find something that they’ll enjoy. And they offer quantity discounts… BONUS… so you can score fabulous wine at a great price and support a local business. It’s a win-win situation.
One of my favorites is their Spring Fling. It is a white wine that’s seasoned with a spice called woodruff and lightly carbonated. You can pour it into a pitcher along with some strawberries and let it marinate to give it a slightly fruity flavor. Refreshing. It’s perfect for the warm weather! I cannot wait for the first wonderfully warm day so we can enjoy our bottle of Spring Fling on the deck…
And one of the highlights of my trip was meeting Peace Valley Winery’s furry resident… Moe. When the owners saw my conspicuous camera, they asked if I would try to get a few shots of Moe. Apparently he’s rather camera shy. We found him in a storage area, in his bed that is perched atop a pile of wine boxes. I absolutely love his ears, they give him so much character!
Allison - I love Moe… those ears are great! Looks like he’s lead quite a life!
Sarah Lockard - only April would go to a winery and find a fabulous furry friend 🙂
