This year on Halloween I was surrounded by hundreds of dogs in costume. I could hardly contain myself as I walked around FDR Park, camera in hand, spotting dogs dressed up as bananas, pumpkins, devils, angels, turtles, pigs, ducks, wizards, many canine Phillies fans, and even a matador. I saw Mary Todd and Abe Lincoln. And Smarty Jones, accompanied by his Chihuahua jockey. There was a bully pair in which one was dressed as bacon and the other, an egg. And a dog in a tiny, white, sequined-jumpsuit that pranced around as a furry Elvis.
Though the rain tried to put a damper on the day, it didn’t stop the many humans and their costumed pups from coming out to support Philly PAWS and all the hard work they do for Philadelphia’s homeless and unwanted pets. And having a fabulous time while doing it.
I have posted a few images below, but you can click on the link below to watch a slideshow of the day. I promise, it will make you smile. 🙂

This is Beefy. He is such a sweet and lovable pup. He is being fostered until he finds his forever home… but has recently had a medical emergency that has landed him in ICU. If you have some healthy vibes, please send them Beefy’s way…
ashley folkema - Oh my goodness…look at all those perfect little costumes! Love it!
{Good thoughts to Beefy}
