1. What type of home do you currently reside in? (house, apartment, etc.)
A townhouse.
2. If you could completely redecorate one room in your home, what room would you pick, why, and what would you do to it?
The master bathroom. I have a desperate desire for a jacuzzi tub. But I’d settle for one that I didn’t have to scrunch my legs up in order to fit in.
3. What is your favorite place to gain inspiration for your home decor style?
My home decor style comes mostly from browsing, seeing something I like, and buying. There aren’t many preconceived ideas involved.
4. What is your favorite piece of decor in your home?
Our red couch. Red makes me happy.
5. What do you want visitors to feel when they visit your home? Do you think your home gives off that feeling?
I want our visitors to feel a sense of us when they visit. Warm, comfortable, kind of quirky and a little random.
6. Describe your home in one word and explain why you chose that word.
Happy. I love everything in this little home… How could it be anything but?
7. What are some predominant colors or patterns in your home?
Red. See above. There’s also a lot of neutral colors… browns, tans, beige… particularly in rooms that haven’t yet been tackled by paint.
8. What is your favorite room in your home and why?
My office. It was a hot mess when we moved in and my husband and I repainted (after tearing off the waist-high green and white striped wallpaper – I’m very serious about this!), laid hardwood floors (after tearing up the green carpet – which beautifully matched the green and white striped wallpaper), and redecorated. It’s now my comfy little office and a place where I can meet clients. I love it.
9. Do you take a hands-on or DIY approach to projects around your home or do you enlist or hire help?
Depends on the difficulty of the project. Kev is not very much of a DIY-er, but I’ve been impressed with some projects he’s taken on. He completely gutted and re-did our powder room downstairs. Let me assure you that I was not very confident in that project when I heard him say, “I know how to do it, I read instructions online.”
10. Where is your favorite place to shop for home furnishings?
Like I said, I don’t often go out in search of home furnishings… some places that we hit up are Crate&Barrel, IKEA, HomeGoods, and online.
