One year ago today, my heart was broken into a million pieces. I lost the first man that I ever loved… my Daddy.
I wonder how it is possible to feel such a profound sense of loss and an immense sense of gratitude at the same time. For having such a selfless father. A father that has supported all my decisions, even if he didn’t agree with them, has cheered me on in all of life’s endeavors and has forgiven all my mistakes. Yes, I still feel like he was taken too soon. Like we as a family were robbed of our core. But I was blessed with 28 years of memories. Some kids never have that. Blessed. And that’s what I have to focus on to get me through…
Why?
Meet Angus. His name suits him because he completely is a big ole chunk of beefy love. I met him at Bullyfest and was thrilled when his parents won my Bullyfest raffle for a free pet photography session. So last weekend I headed to New Jersey to capture Angus doing what he loves most, roaming the neighborhood and hanging out with his parents. I loved every second of it. Angus was rescued by HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue and came into Robyn and Glen’s life atΒ just the right moment. And though they technically rescued him. In many ways, he rescued them too…
I love this… all his wrinkles…

If you could’t tell by now, I love bulldogs.Β L.O.V.E.Β And I’ve been fortunate that through Bullyfest I’ve been able to connect with many awesome bulldog lovers. I smile through the whole shoot, and I smile as I edit each of the fabulously funny images. How could you not love these wrinkly faces?

I love a good underbite…

Never say never. On Saturday, I did the one type of shoot that I said I’d never do… a wedding! It was intense and fast and most of all, FUN. Dina + Dave were incredibly sweet… and their wedding was personal because it was put together with the help of their closest friends and family. There’s nothing more special than that. Thank you both for trusting me (even when I didn’t trust myself) to capture one of the most important days of your lives.
The venue. This wedding was 941 Theater’s first…
The BEAUTIFUL bride…
A first kiss…
A sweet moment during the best man’s toast. I adore their expressions…
And what may be my favorite shot of the day… Hot red shoes on your wedding day! Dina is my kind of girl…
Angel. She has an affinity for ice cream. And gravy. And leftovers. And anything edible, really. She wasn’t ashamed when the vet declared her obese. After all, she’s naturally big boned. She’s rather camera shy. She has heard the saying, “the camera adds 10lbs” and she believes it…
What a charming smile…
