This little guy turns ONE today! Happy birthday Evan! We recently did a session celebrating this milestone, and of course a cake smash session! The cake smash was really fun, especially when their goldendoodle pup Brady joined in to help with the clean up. Evan was such a joy to photograph… He’s such a happy baby and is so expressive! I got to meet this sweet little nugget before her photo session… I went to Bryn Mawr hospital when she was only two days old to video her for the Fresh 48 Film. I love that I got to document her and her family in both video and photos… It’s such a special time when you bring home a new baby, but such a whirlwind. I adore this family and love that I’ve gotten to capture so many important parts of their lives… From the first time that I photographed them many years ago when their babies were not human babies but 2 Boston terriers (you can see the session here: http://www.aprilziegler.com/phoebe-and-blackie-two-boston-terriers-philadelphia-pet-photography ), to getting to document Fiona’s first year, to getting to photograph them as a family of four with their newest addition, Eliza. They came into my Collegeville studio when Eliza was six days old, and though things are certainly a little more chaotic with a toddler AND a newborn, it was fun to document this beautiful and busy time in their lives…

I met Tina (she’s an amazing wedding and senior photographer in the Harrisburg area: https://www.tinajayphotography.com ) back in 2010. We were both fairly new to photography, and we both left corporate jobs that year to do photography full-time. We connected right away and since then we’ve met up on a regular basis to talk about photography and business and life. We’ve celebrated marriages and babies and new homes and business accomplishments. Tina has photographed my family since the day we found out that we were expecting a baby girl and I’m so grateful for her friendship. Just last week Tina and Jay welcomed their sweet little rainbow baby, Reagan. I was thrilled and honored when she asked me to come film Reagan after they brought her home.

This is the first in-home Fresh 48 Film that I’ve done and though it was so very different from the hospital sessions, I loved it just as much! It was so sweet to get to document the nursery that has been so lovingly prepared for her, so fun to get to include their doodle pup Holly, and so emotional to film the new family of 3 by the waterfall that they created in memory of their Jack, the baby boy that they lost last year. I’m so indescribably happy for these two and their little miracle, Reagan…
