Meet Ziggy, the pug. Officially named Ziggy Stardust Lanchak Jacques. In classic pug fashion, he was a total lovebug during our session. Have I mentioned how much I love photographing pugs? They are so sweet and affectionate and tolerant when you dress them in a festive holiday beanie…

You know I can’t resist an underbite…

I know that hot 90’s Blackstreet song is playing in your head… No diggity, no doubt. And now you will sing it for the rest of the day, as I did. This sweet golden retriever is named Diggity and she is 13 years old. She still has a lot of puppy energy though… We ran around the park and even after an exhausting photo session she refused to lay down and rest. Maybe she could sense that we wanted to get a shot of her sleeping? Our persistence paid off, and there will be some resting shots in her slideshow. πŸ™‚

Rip and Carrie mentioned how much Diggity loves towels… she plays with them, sleeps with them, and apparently accessorizes with them too!

  • ashley folkema - How precious! I love the one of her walking away from you.

  • Jay Herman - Sweet, sweet girl. Goldens are extra special and you’ve taken beautiful shots. I thank my lucky stars every day for my Golden Abby. πŸ˜‰

  • Sarah - YEAH! The last photo is my new fav. She is hysterical!!!!

  • Nancy - I love the last one and the one with the man and his dog! Nothing better!

  • Meredith Perdue - Wow! This is an incredibly special session, April. I love Diggity’s photos and know that her family will always cherish them.

  • Rachel - That towel shot is cracking me up right now. He looks like a nun. The pug photos in your next post are fabulous. I love that little hat. πŸ™‚ Apparently I like when dogs have accessories on their heads. Ha!

  • carrie - my baby girl <3 i love the pictures!

  • mary - she looks like a happy old soul..with a lot of puppy left in her, just look at her smile in those pics!

We’re home from our week in paradise but there is no rest today… I’m working on a ton of client stuff so expect more updates soon! In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a sunset from our trip…

I apologize for the lack of posts and hope that anyone who reads this blog has not abandoned it… The hubs and I are in Jamaica for the fabulous wedding of Rachel + Chris. They got married on Tuesday and today we had a blast doing a honeymoon shoot with them at our resort, the Rockhouse. Look at the view we wake up to from our villa… Seriously stunning…

Excuse the photo quality… as it was taken on my iPhone. We’ll be home this weekend so expect to see some rad wedding photos soon!

  • Christy - So jealous. What a beautiful pic. One day I’ll make it there. πŸ™‚

  • ashley folkema - Beautiful! Glad you are having a wonderful time. I am looking out the window to frost right now. πŸ˜‰

There came a time when I started to see friends of my little sister out at bars… And each time it came with an initial shock and question of, “ohhhhh, what are they doing out drinking??” And then the realization would strike that my baby sister is indeed old enough to drink. How does that happen? When did she go and grow up?

That’s kind of the feeling that I had through this engagement session. You see… Monica is my bestest friend’s little sister. Our parents were friends in high school, I’ve known her since she was a baby. How could she be old enough to be getting married?? Not only getting married, but starting a family with a brand newΒ VizslaΒ puppy that they named Swagger.

I love this couple. I loved this session. And I love this Swagger…

Swoon…
