Being engaged is a thrilling but fleeting time. There’s usually only a short period of time when you get to show off that one sparkly ring to everyone you know, you get to call him your fiancé, and you get to count down the days until one of the happiest days of your life. I love being able to capture this for people that I adore. Monica + Kyle are adorable together. And this was one of my most favorite sessions.

I couldn’t fit all of my favorites into this post so click here to see the slideshow. You really should.

Swagger!!!! You’ll have to watch the slideshow to see more of his cute mug…

As we walked along the deserted, greenery-lined path, I could only focus on the prospect of fresh Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee in a restaurant by the pool. My mornings are like that. Pre-coffee, things are a little hazy. Post-coffee, things are blissfully clear (and caffeinated!). Something caught Kev’s eye and he stopped suddenly. He picked up what looked like it could be monopoly money. But this money clearly read: ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS.

My eyes widened. Holy. A hundred dollars?!? We’re rich! I did a little dance and we continued on our way with our new-found fortune. We settled in to our breakfast table and the waitress approached with a pot of coffee. Kev looked up and asked her, “By any chance, do you know how much 100 Jamaican dollars would equal in U.S dollars?” We waited for her reply, which would dictate how we could spend our found money… a massage on the beach, a nice meal for two, a trip out on jet skis, a few bottles of Jamaican rum… She answered, “It’s a little more than a dollar.”

In that case, I’ll keep it as a souvenir of a time when I was almost rich…

  • ashley folkema - Ha Ha…love it!
