Today I said goodbye to my twenties, and it wasn’t as sad of a goodbye as I had anticipated. Thirty doesn’t really feel much different than twenty-nine. And as my Mother assured me this morning… Turning thirty is nearly as bad as having a child that’s turning thirty. Thanks Mom. 🙂

My day was wonderful… from waking up to my husband coming into the bedroom with a tray of blueberry pancakes. OJ, and flowers… to lounging on the deck on a warm afternoon and reading a good book… to going to my Mom’s house and walking in to SURPRISE! A bunch of friends and family and the biggest surprise that made me drop my purse and run to hug her… my little sister. She flew home from Florida to surprise me and there’s not much that could make this a HAPPIER birthday than that…

Chloe had a chance to show me how she feels about birthdays… Well, moreso how she feels about birthday hats…

We met at their school, which I love since it’s a place that’s meaningful for them. And they even brought along their dog, Sierra…

I have to admit, I was nothing less than thrilled when Sarah + Dave wanted to incorporate their pup into their engagement photos. A stunning couple AND their adorable black pug… it doesn’t get much better than that.

Sarah + Dave are both from Virginia, but it took coming to Philadelphia for dental school for them to meet. Funny how life works, sometimes. We spent the afternoon in the city, stopping at a few different squares. They took me to this fantastic park that is right across the street from their new apartment… Huge score when you’re living in the city. I think Miss Maggie will be very happy there.

L-O-V-E Sarah’s ring. And I love the fact that she still has a spacer on it because she can’t bear to leave it at the jewelers to be re-sized. Can’t say I blame her…

Lucy is a piglet. She eats every meal as if it were her last. You’d think the girl was starving by watching her scarf down her meals in 10 seconds flat. Eating that quickly cannot be healthy, so when we saw this bowl advertised in a magazine we had to get it. Today was Lucy’s first day eating with her new Brake-Fast bowl…

The results are good so far. It has definitely slowed her down a bit. I would recommend it if you have a little pig like ours. 

And Chloe gave me a minute of prime photo time in the kitchen this evening… for which I am very grateful…
