In just a few short weeks, this family will go from being a family of three to a family of four. We recently got together to document this exciting time. Dylan was a ham for the camera, and he loved loving on his mama’s belly. I think he loves his baby brother already! The thing that most drew me to photography was the storytelling. While I love being able to freeze a moment in time, what I love most is putting all those moments together to tell a real story. I’ve recently started incorporating video into some of my work and it’s love. It’s something that photography just can’t capture.

What is Fresh 48?

A Fresh 48 Film is done in the hospital after your baby arrives. It’s unscripted and unposed. It’s all about capturing the little details of the newest little love in your life. It’s teeny toes and the tiny fingernails that you’re terrified of having to clip for the first time. It’s milk bubbles and little lips. It’s the sweet sound of a new baby’s cry. It’s all the newness.

Fresh 48 Films are perfect for first time parents, as you experience how surreal it is to go from being a couple to being a family of three. They are also a beautiful way to document your growing family… your child meeting their new baby brother or sister for the first time.

These two have changed SO MUCH since I last saw them for their newborn session. They were only 5 days old when they came into the studio and were the sleepiest little babies. They are part of the Baby’s First Year Plan, so I photographed them for the second time when they were 8 months old. The difference is incredible! (See the link below for pics from their newborn session.) Since it was right around Christmas, we also did photos of them in their Christmas PJs. Because there’s nothing more adorable than a baby in Christmas jammies. Except 2 babies in Christmas jammies…

I can’t even wait for their first birthday photo session!
