We did Grant’s newborn session when he was only 6 days old, and he might have been the sleepiest newborn I’ve ever photographed. He was complete perfection! His parents brought along some fun stuff to include in the session… a vintage airplane from his nursery and little cars since his Daddy is a car lover. Being a pet photographer, I’ve been inspired by Sharon Montrose’s work for years. You may have heard of her. And if not, you’ve surely seen her work… She has a series of prints of baby animals that is very popular. Her prints have been used to decorate countless babies nurseries, including many celebrities nurseries. It’s a beautiful series… classic, minimalistic, and perfect for a nursery.

A few months ago I was contacted by a couple that is expecting their first baby. They had also seen Sharon’s work, and it sparked an idea for their own baby’s nursery. Instead of baby animal prints, they wanted to do Walter animal prints. Walter is their first baby… their boxer.

I feel so lucky to get to document Nathaniel’s first year… He’s part of my Grow With Me Plan, which includes a newborn, 6 month, and 1 year session + cake smash! I love this plan because it allows me to capture the tremendous change that occurs in a baby’s first year. It’s so fun to see how much they’ve grown at each session. We did Nathaniel’s newborn session when he was a teeny little 9 day old nugget and now he’s a smiley, sitting, completely adorable 7 month old. We did the session at Longwood Gardens, which was perfect for a winter photo session. I have far too many favorites from this session so be prepared…
