Our Valentine’s Days used to be a little more romantic. This year, we had a stuffed animal at our table and an owl purse filled with toys. And I loved every second of it. I don’t think that Valentine’s Day necessarily has to be a mushy, romantic kind of day. To me, it’s about spending time with the people that you love (and it’s about Reese Hearts because they are DELISH!). And I don’t find anything wrong with a day that celebrates love.

As a bonus, Valentine’s Day is also the day that I met my husband. Eleven years ago.

Also, I get brownie points for surprising my husband with replacement of his favorite coffee mug that has a broken handle. It doesn’t matter that I’m the one that broke the handle. At all.
