Since we’re supposed to be getting some very chilly weather this week here in the Philadelphia area, I thought I’d share one of my favorite winter shots of Roxi, the standard poodle, in the snow…

  • Wendy - This is just stunning!!!

This was a perfect book to start the year. Though I don’t like to make resolutions, there’s a natural inclination to think about what goals you have for the year as you enter into a new January. Ways to make this year even better than the last. The author, Rubin, spends a year implementing small and large ways that she could find a little more happiness in her everyday life. Each month focused on a different aspect, such as money, friendship, and marriage. The tasks ranged from things as simple as decluttering closets to things like pursuing a passion. It was definitely thought-provoking and made me think of ways that I could smile more. Everyone can afford to be a little happier.

  • Ashley - I just started reading this! Definitely some good insight.

  • Tina - I LOVED this book, and wanted to do some variation of the happiness project for myself:) LOVE all the blogging you’re doing!

So you thought I was kidding about the blog revival? I have so many weddings that never got to be featured on the blog. Pretty weddings. Amazing couples. And that didn’t seem right. So I’m reaching into the archives for Wedding Wednesdays. A day when we’ll revisit a wedding that deserves it’s time to shine on the blog…

One of my clients, Nicole Larocco, is an amazing Philadelphia area dog trainer and owner of Philly Unleashed. (Check out their blog, it’s full of entertaining and really helpful doggy info!). I’ve known Nicole for a few years through the PSPCA and I photographed her sister’s wedding several years ago which you can see HERE! She’s recently engaged and I was thrilled when she contacted me to shoot her engagement session because I knew that two (very well-trained) pups would be involved. Naturally, since dogs are such a big part of our lives, many people want to include their pups in something as meaningful as their engagement session. I think it’s important to choose a photographer that’s familiar with working with dogs, particularly a photographer who has two wild pups of her own, is used to all the crazy things that dogs can do in front of the camera, and who loves them as much as you do.

Nicole wrote an awesome blog post with some things that she learned from our session… some really fantastic tips on how to incorporate your dogs into your photo session. You can read the post by clicking HERE or on the image below…
