I adore Great Danes. I love their lanky legs and expressive eyes. I love that despite their size, they are the most gentle and soft-hearted dogs. They have been at the top of my “Dog breeds that I want toΒ shoot” list (yes, I have a list) for quite some time. And Thor has only made me love the breed even more…Β
Can you believe this pup is only 6 months old?? Even though he was so young, he was one of the most well-behaved dogs that I’ve ever shot. He completely rocked the session and so many of the images make my heart very happy. This was a commercial shoot so I had limited time and freedom with Thor, so I can only hope that his parents bring him back when he’s grown for another session.
And in case you’re wondering, he is indeed wearing a pink leash in this shot. The company representative convinced us that only real men wear pink. Looks like Thor can pull it off…

Only a day or two after Tiffany contacted me for a newborn session, I saw the announcement of little Nico’s arrival on Facebook. She wasn’t kidding when she said he’d be arriving any day now! We held off on posting Nico’s photos until everyone received their birth announcement, so as not to spoil any surprises. You can see his perfectly adorable announcement and other images from the session by clicking HERE!
We’ll start with my favorite…
Love this shot of Nico and his beautiful momma…
And lastly, a shot that made me sigh because he is just too. dang. cute…
Nancy first contacted me about photographing her yellow lab mix named Sam. Conveniently, it worked out that we could include the whole family in the session! I know it’s not often that you can get the whole family together so I’m thrilled it worked out for us. I had a blast exploring the park with them. Nancy is the type of client that quickly becomes more than a client… she’s a friend and a huge cheerleader for my work, which I appreciate more than I can say! The whole session can be viewed by clicking HERE!
Check out the speed…
Nancy loved the image of Tristan that you can see here, because Sam loves to hang his head out the car window too. So we switched it up a bit… This shot involves a certain photographer hanging out the sunroof of a moving car. Ha. I love it…Β

I’m not sure exactly what little Nico is thinking here, but I’m pretty sure I feel the same way! It’s tough to go back to work after a long weekend. I giggled as soon as I saw this shot. And since I loved all of your comments on the last caption post, I thought it’d be fun to play again. A little game to spice up our Monday Tuesday morning. So please leave a comment with what you think Nico is thinking…
Today was a very special day, as we celebrated our Chloemonster’s 4th birthday! We kept this year’s celebration low-key, as opposed to last year’s party. But her birthday was still filled with her favorite things… lots of treats, gifts, a trip to her favorite place on earth (her grammy’s house!), and an extra special birthday dinner. She’s kind of spoiled. But she’s too cute not to be.
Here she is eyeing up her birthday gift…
And here is a link to view the video what happened next: Somebody LOVES birthday gifts!
Happy birthday sweet girl. We love you for all of your odd idiosyncrasies and all of your completely lovable habits. I can’t imagine our life without you…
