  • Concetta - I have this book sitting on my coffee table. Anthea let me borrow it and I have yet to read it. I hear it’s wonderful…we shall see (if I ever get around to reading it!).

  • claire - thanks for that little shout out!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I knew that headshots with Dr. Sandy would be a blast. Dr. Sandy is our fabulous chiropractor, and she runs Family Chiropractic in Lederach. Over the past two years of being adjusted by her, I’ve learned that her positive attitude is infectious and it’s impossible to leave her office feeling anything but happy. The passion that she has for her work that is evident. But the most notable thing for me is how much she cares about her patients. Truly cares. And that is rare these days. A chiro appointment is much more like a visit with a good friend… with the benefit of leaving feeling refreshed and well-adjusted. Dr. Sandy has done so much more for me these past two years than get my spine back in check… she has been support during difficult times and a wonderful cheerleader for my work as I began this adventure into photography. And so I was flattered when she asked me to shoot some new images of her for her website. Here are just two of the many…

So perfect for her sunny personality…

  • Emily Beaty - ooo i love that sun flare! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Stacey - Gorgeous shots of a gorgeous woman. She just oozes health and spirit! Love your composition.

  • Sarah - great job, she looks like a very caring person and she is beautiful too

  • christine - these are beautiful!! ๐Ÿ™‚ i love the green colors!

  • Sara - I am seriously in love with the photograph of her with the sun peeking around the tree! WOW! It really draws me in. The green is awesome and it works so well since it is the color of healing and growth – which really goes hand in hand with her profession. I love your work, you are so talented!!!

  • Sandy levenson - That is ME in those pictures! Thank you everyone for the very beautiful compliments. April does such amazing work! She is so talented and has a great eye for getting just the right shot. I am so excited to see the rest of the photos!

I’ve been postingย a ton of client images recently, so for the sake of diversity I thought I’d introduce a new segment idea about stuff I love. Some of these things will be dog-related, some will not… but all will be things that I’m digging at the moment.

For our first installment, I wanted to share a book that I’m loving… Dog Dogs. It is a collection of photographs by an amazing photographer, Elliott Erwitt. I was introduced to his work when Kev surprised me by taking me to an exhibit of his dog photography at a local museum and I instantly fell in love. That exhibit was all it took to make him my very favorite photographer. His work is genius, and his sense of humor is evident in so many of his photographs. But the thing that I love most is the way that he’s able to capture the bond between dogs and their humans. Any dog lover can appreciate that…

  • Simon - Erwitt is the dog photography God, nobody else even comes close! I saw him give a lecture a few years ago and he didn’t disappoint – he’s just as funny as you’d expect from his pics.

Brynne and Robert have an adorable little dog named Sierra. She was rather camera-shy, and couldn’t even be bribed with the typical treats and toys. But I was able to get some shots of her when she was being snuggled by the kids. And this turns out to be one of my favorite recent photos…

Love this shot. Love this light.

And one to make you giggle on a Monday morning. Gotta love the expressions of 7yr old boys…
