With all the engagements, weddings, and pets I’ve been photographing recently, I haven’t been photographing many families so this was a little change of pace. Though not completely, as this family does include two pups… Indy and Oscar. During my family sessions, I always try to make time to photograph the parents since so often they haven’t had professional photos taken together since their wedding! Cherie is not a fan of being in front of the camera, so I hope she doesn’t hate me for posting this shot, but I love it! Cherie, you’re beautiful!

Indy and Oscar are sisters… they’re from the same litter. They do this cute little nose kiss thing…

Have you ever seen a dog strike a ‘diva’ pose? Check out Sweets, the pointer mix below, working it for the camera. Last week I met up with Sweets, her little brother, a Vizsla named Tater, and their owner Leigh, at Lake Nockamixon. Leigh is the owner of Opportunity Barks, a fabulous animal behavior and training company in the Philadelphia area. Our first session had to be rescheduled due to the sweltering 100+ degree heat wave, so I was excited to finally get to meet them in much more bearable conditions. And though the temps were more bearable, that didn’t keep the pups from jumping in the lake to cool down. I can’t say that I blame them…

  • AmandaD - Very cool! I’m glad you are back to puppies….I missed them on your blog 🙂

  • Nick - Hahah that first dive pose is awesome 🙂

  • ashley folkema - Oh my goodness…love the names! Too cute!

  • Emily - What beautiful dogs (and I love their names!!). The location is perfect.

Cupcakes make the world go ’round. My world, that is…

  • Isabel - Yes! They totally do!

  • marcia - red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing is food from the gods in my world!

  • Craig Kawaguchi - What time is dessert? I’ll be over.
Your pics are awesome!!! Congrats and DANG YOUR PICS ARE Awesome!!!

  • Emily - Mmmmmm, I totally agree! 🙂

  • Emilee - Yummy! Now I’m having some serious cupcake cravings!

Last weekend Jen + Rich got married on a day that could not have been more perfect. It was hot, no doubt about that, but we were able to retreat into their reception at the Phoenixville Foundry to cool off in between taking photos. The Foundry is one of the hottest, new venues. Not only is it an incredible building, but it’s location in downtown Phoenixville is perfect… there are innumerable fantastic spots for photos. But let’s start with a photo from the ceremony… Pretty excited to be married, don’t you think?

As we were walking around Phoenixville, this old house caught my eye… I love the iron fence and the classic look to the house. Granted, it’s not in the best condition. But it has character. As I had them stand in front of it, a random guy walked by and made some snarky comments about taking wedding photos in front of an ugly, run-down, old house. His words, not mine. Jen quickly responded with, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” That’s my girl. 🙂 Take this, snarky dude… I’m pretty happy with how this turned out…

Love a fun bridal party… Particularly one that can get some AIR!!!

A little cake… before and after action…

A huge thank you to Ashley Bartoletti for joining me for the day… some of the fabulous shots that you’ll see from this wedding are hers!

  • Sarah Postma - Best. Jumping. Shot. Ever. You rock, April!

  • Li Ward - THE JUMPING SHOT!!!!

  • claire - whoa that shot in front of the dance mural = AMAZING

  • Emily - April, your images are always so beautiful. The one in front of the old house is perfect, and I LOVE the jumping bridal party!!

  • Kim - These are AWESOME April! (especially since they were taken less than a mile from my house!) I drive by that house almost every day and now I’ll look at it a little differently! Actually I think I remember seeing an entire wedding party walking down Bridge street a little bit ago and I’m guessing it was all you guys! I hope you share more!

  • ashley folkema - The bridge shot…amazing! Gorgeous April!

Last weekend, the husband and I made a trip to Maryland for Jen + Sam’s engagement session on a horse farm. Pretty much an ideal location. Their session included their horse, Troy, AND their two Jack Russell Terriers, Shiloh and Rocco. It got a little crazy with three animals, but it was a good time and I’m so looking forward to their wedding in September!

Jen… you are GORGEOUS!!
