Though I miss my dad something fierce, particularly on days like today, I feel lucky to get the capture the love between a bride and her father on one of the most important days of their lives. Jessica’s dad Harry had me tearing up all day… I don’t need to explain the way that he loves his daughter…

Happy father’s day to all the dads and to my husband, the best puppy daddy in the world!

  • Emily - Oh wow – what a sweet image!!!

  • Allison - That is an awesome pic! Missing my dad as well…

  • Emilee - Aw, this shot is so sweet. You captured the love of a father and daughter just wonderfully, April!

“I wanna make you smile whenever you’re sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
Oh all I wanna do is grow old with you”

~Grow Old With You, by Adam Sandler

Saturday, Jess + Rich were married at the Inn at Fernbrook Farms in New Jersey. The lyrics to the above song were read during their ceremony. The perfect combination of romance and humor. Perfect for them. Jess + Rich decided to do a ‘first look,’ where they see each other before the ceremony and get their photos done since there wasn’t much time between the ceremony and reception. I *love* the idea of the bride + groom having this private moment, all their own, and I explain this option to all of my brides+grooms. I’m so happy that they did, as it allowed their day to flow much more easily and allowed them to relax and not rush (which is always good for a wedding day!). This was such a sweet moment, and here are just two shots from their ‘first look’…

Jess’s Dad handmade all of these signs on the grounds directing people to the ceremony site and reception site… How sweet is he??

Love this shot of Jess’s sister comforting their mom after the ceremony…

Doing their ‘first look’ allowed us plenty of time to explore the grounds and get shots like this…

Congratulations Jess + Rich!! It was an absolute joy getting to know you two these past few months and getting to be a part of your day. Enjoy your honeymoon cruise!

I admit it. I have to muffle squeals each and every time I get an inquiry for a session with a pug. There are certain breeds that are just remarkably easy to photograph. And between their hilarious personalities, adorable characteristics (who can resist the pig tail and googly eyes??), and serious interest in anything edible… pugs are among the top of the list.

Bruce’s parents are absolutely smitten with him. I can’t say that I blame them. Seriously. Look at this pug face…

While portraits are beautiful, some of my favorite images from a wedding are often quick clicks of a moment. A moment right after a bride and groom pledge to love each other no matter what life throws their way. A first glance as husband and wife. A “holy crap, we’re MARRIED!” smile. Those are the moments I want to capture.

Congratulations Jess + Rich. Your day was truly perfect and I hope you loved every bit of it. We sure did.

  • Christine - Love the picture!
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
    Love you πŸ™‚

Another session where the weather threatened to force us to cancel our plans. We were *this close* to rescheduling. In fact, I left my house for the session with my camera gear covered in plastic bags due to the downpour. But as soon as we reached Philadelphia University, where Megan + John both attended and met during a party freshman year, the sun began shining…

By now, you may be thinking that it’s a requirement to have an adorable pooch in order to book me to shoot your wedding. Not so. But I don’t complain when it happens… πŸ™‚ Β Meet Chewy…
