Who says that you only get to wear the dress once? A day after session is a fantastic excuse to rock out your wedding gear again and a great opportunity for some fun shots of just the two of you. Kristi and Alex were up for anything… so we explored, barely beat the rain, and had a blast. Here’s to wearing the dress TWICE…

  • Shauna (Fido & Wino) - The day after- that is a brilliant idea! Wish I had thought of that for my wedding!

  • ashley folkema - I think these sessiosn look like so much fun! Cannot wait to see more!

After over 1,100 votes, we have a winner of the Flaunt Your Rock engagement contest! Thank you so much to all that participated and rallied their friends and family to vote. And the winner of the engagement session + $100 print credit… with 30% of the votes… is….

Couple #5, Leslie and Charles!!

They will now be entered in the national contest with a chance to win a grand prize worth $450+. The grand prize includes custom invites from Paper & Ink Studio, a wedding cake topper from Custom Cake Toppers, a custom clutch from Clutch That and a wedding accessory from Little White Chapel Accessories!

I swear, the contest was not biased due to the super cute pup in the photo below! Though I do hope he makes an appearance for the engagement session. 😉   Congratulations Leslie and Charles!

  • Lexi - congrats! Leslie and Charles!!!

  • Sarah Postma - Ooooh, I hope he makes an appearance at the engagement session too! And I love the ring. 🙂

Yesterday was *the* perfect day for a wedding… blue skies, ideal temperature, beautiful couple. Yep. Perfect. I was lucky to get to shoot for the fabulous Isabel March… click over to her site to see what happens when Buddha crashes your wedding!

  • Isabel - Thanks for coming along yesterday. Good times!

  • Stacey - So sweet… I love the slight color tone in that first one, romantic composition in both…. Looks like a very happy couple, and I look forward to seeing more!

  • Michelle & Steve - Thanks for helping Isabel capture our wedding day – I love these two and cannot wait to see the rest!

  • Emily - Beautiful, April!! I just love the processing of the first… gorgeous tones!!

When I was a child, my grandpop had a little white poodle named Mimi. Whenever it came time for Mimi to cross the rainbow bridge, a new Mimi would appear. Almost magically. So in reality, there were an innumerable number of Mimis… all little white fluffballs, all mean, MEAN dogs. I’m not sure why, but she was mad at life! I distinctly remember that wicked snarl and the inevitable snap that would come next. It’s unfortunate the Mimi defined my perception of poodles,  as these two were quite the opposite of my Mimi experience…

Lulu Belle is the black poodle, Roxi is the white. Lulu is older, wiser, shy, and calm. She is the “perfect dog.” Roxi is the classic little sister… bold, adventurous, and always testing her limits. Dina described Roxi as “not the perfect dog. But that’s why she’s loved.” I love that. We did our session right after the record-breaking snowfall and I’m glad we did… I love the look of the snow against their contrasting fur. Below are some of my favorites of Lulu Belle + Roxi the supermodel…

Check out those ears, blowing in the wind…

This is one of my favorites because I know it means a lot to Dina. Whenever Lulu needs some comfort, reassurance, or love… she stands right against Dina’s leg and puts her head up like this, waiting to be pet…

Seriously. I can’t get enough of this puffball tail!
